Ya know, I was all jazzed to go see X3. I really was. I like the comics, I liked the Fox cartoon, and I even liked the first 2 movies. But number three? Someone decided that having 15 really interesting jumping-off points that have no conflict would be much more entertaining than even one that did.
I don’t mean conflict like fights. Plenty of those. And explosions. And skin flying off bones. No prob. I mean, brother-against-brother angst, soul-searching who-am-I decisions, or even man vs evolution struggle. Let evolution be the new technology/nature/antagonist of choice.
But no. No, we’ll kill everyone off quietly, and resolve struggles against once-friends effortlessly so that the movie can end in a decent time and we have our requisite explosions.
Forget it. Henry Rollins, I think, would agree. He rants on big entertainment’s questionable decisions about what is really worth putting on a screen. Enjoy.
